5 Minutes Late releases their first five song EP with high anticipation. Originating from many different influences and styles, this album has a little something for everyone ranging from mellow to in your face aggressive rock. Being a local favorite with regards to small and medium size venues, the band wanted to expand its audience, and so comes the five song freshman release. Moving forward the band wants to continue to write great influential songs that have meaning to everyone. In the coming months, the band will be going back to the board to write new songs with great anticipation of what the new year will bring.

The album was recorded by Andy Mitchell at Audio Bay recording studio in Rockford, MI and mastered by Drew Lavyne (credits include The Foo Fighters, Dave Mathews Band, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, and many more).

This album has been a work in progress for over fifteen (15) years. The first piece on this album ("Broken Light") was sequenced with Passport Mastertracks Pro (5) on an Apple Macintosh Plus computer, using only a Roland JV-80 and a Yamaha TG-500 synthesizer. I recorded the sequence into an inexpensive tape deck. Since then, I have had it mastered to, hopefully, fit with the other pieces on the album.

The music has changed as I have gained access to more powerful software and learned how to use the technology more effectively. After my first two pieces, I acquired software that allowed my to add distorted guitars to the mix, which, I felt, was important to add an aggressive quality that only distorted guitars can provide. On my most recent pieces, Harmonic Propulsion and Trick or Trick, I relied heavily on the guitar sample library LPC by Prominy played through Native Instrument's Guitar Rig. I used a wide variety of software synthesizers, samplers, and effects, although some hardware synthesizers were also used.

Everything on the album was played through a (piano style) keyboard (or, in a few cases, input via a computer). I resisted using loops.

A few of my pieces have been included in various independent compilation albums. In addition, Blitzkrieg and Equilibrium were demonstration pieces for Steinberg's Virtual Guitarist and Virtual Guitarist Electric Edition software. Although not specifically related to this album, I was also a beta tester on Toontracks EZDrummer software, which I used on my most recent pieces.

"go back" is Forsythe's first CD since the original recordings from late 2004. The dynamic duo of Cameron Zauche and Mike Long combined forces to write 6 songs that create sounds unique to describe. ]]>The Rise Up Rejoicing project began with making accompaniment tracks for singing at a local Christian music festival in 2004. After completing the first song, Larry "Rex" Rexford, the sound engineer and one man band for most of the songs, talked Marcie into recording her singing as well. About three years later, a few voice lessons and hurricane Katrina behind them, the project was completed. Most of the songs describe lessons learned throughout Marcie's spiritual journey. Many exhibit a jolliness that comes from a child-like faith and trust in God. The lyrics paint word pictures by which children can learn and adults can be encouraged to experience the joy and peace of new life in Christ, of which the butterfly on the CD cover is a symbol. The butterfly picture was originally drawn by Shannon Garrison. The flute part in "Almighty, Holy God" is performed by Soni Buckalew. The piano in "Savior Thou Art" is an improvisation by Helen Evans. Chris Feuillade is the tenor in the duet, "Lord, Help Me See." Rex is the tenor in "Spirit's Wing' and background vocals for other songs.

Some call it 'Soul Jazz' or 'BBQ Blues'. I started playing The Hammond B3 Organ at Dottie Ivory's Stardust Lounge in San Francisco in 1973. I was 19 years old and was new in town. The band was just organ and drums and sometimes guitar. Former fan dancer, Dottie Ivory was a great singer who's rendition of Dinah Washington's What A Difference A Day Makes was the highlight in her nightly set .

The Stardust Lounge could be a rough place. A corner bar with a tiny bandstand and even smaller dance floor. Some nights Dottie would sing with a pool cue in her hand. That kinda place. But Jimmy McCracklin would come in- and Charles Brown. I played behind Joe Louis Walker and Fillmore Slim. Mel Brown too. House organist Louis Madison (former Famous Flame) helped me more than anyone. I'd watch him play and get him to show me stuff, and when he had a gig somewhere else I'd take his place for the night. After awhile, they'd let me play the whole week.

'Don't play too much of one style of music. Keep it simple and always pay attention to the groove. It has to groove. And keep the tunes short.'

Jim Pugh/Pastel Motif is just that. Organ and drums. 10 short pieces of music always mindful of the groove. No fixes, no redos. Warts and all.

Is it Jazz? Blues? No. It's just what remembering what I saw and heard back at Dottie Ivory's Stardust Lounge at the corner of Hayes and Laguna in San Francisco.

"Darkness on the Run" marks the Third Sunday Band's return with a second CD of all original work. The title reflects what this band's music does-- shine some light through the darkness that can sometimes fill our world. The opening song, Rise up, captures the feel of an Outer Banks sunrise, where the song was written to celebrate God's awesome power. Guitarists Al Todd and Norm Mayfield have penned inspirational ballads that contemplate our faith like Prayer for a Wandering Soul, Grant them peace, and Bring it all to me and teamed up with lyricist John Sutton to create both folk-rock celebrations like Let it go and Good Things Happen. Some songs arise from searching for meaning in the events of the day. Both the jazzy Prayer for Peace and the blues rocker Keep your eye on me were inspired by the sad state of the world on the 5th anniversary of 911. Throw in a taste of bluegrass, calypso, and a little gospel and you have the eclectic sound of the Third Sunday band.

Melodically aggressive, and intimately honest, Sugar Glyder exists to consistently interject their the starving veins of the art form known as music. Forming in late 2002, near the small town of Waxhaw, original collaborators Chris and Daniel starting playing music together. Once the addition of Cory and Emily came to pass in late 2003, belonging and purpose slowly pushed them into writing their own music. These components, eventually rematerializing into full length songs, became the binding contract between these four individuals. They are not only song writers, they are listeners. Nearly four years later, this unit is working to fight for all that is wholesome and self-sacrificing in the realm of the music industry.
